GOBLIN DIRECT TO SCREEN SYSTEM GETS UK LAUNCH AT PRINTWEAR & PROMOTION

OYO Exhibit Goblin Direct To Screen System at Printwear & Promotion 2009

LUTON, ENGLAND - February 22nd 2009

OYO Instruments LP and it’s European subsidiary OYO Instruments Europe have jointly announced that their new ‘entry level’ Direct To Screen offering, GOBLIN gets its first UK public showing at the Printwear & Promotion exhibition at the NEC Birmingham next week. GOBLIN joins OYO’s earlier Direct To Screen offering the DIABLO which has been shipping since May of this year. Like DIABLO, GOBLIN uses OYO's existing Thermal print head technology to image a stencil onto a standard coated screen using a thermal transfer ribbon system.

GOBLIN joins DIABLO as the fastest and most flexible direct to screen technology on the market. The full width Thermal print head can image at 15 linear inches per minute, much faster than conventional inkjet based technology, applying an image mask to conventionally coated screens in less than two minutes per frame, at up to 600 dpi resolution (1200 dpi for the DIABLO).

The washable mask is applied with a thermal transfer process that eliminates the use of film, ink, toner, and chemicals. GOBLIN accepts frame sizes commonly used in textile print shops, up to 23” x 31”. The new system outputs a stencil directly onto a Screen thereby removing the interim step of having to produce the Film Positive. GOBLIN uses OYO’s patented 14” wide 600dpi thermal print head for imaging up to 14” wide onto frames sizes up to 23” x 31”. The larger DIABLO system uses an 18” wide 1200dpi print head for wider format and higher resolution imaging onto frames sizes up to 25”x36”.

OYO will also be showing its range of ThermoImpression® Imagesetters including the range topping Liberator XE model with the worlds only 1200dpi Thermal Print head and up to 54" wide imaging widths, offering up to 120lpi screen rulings.

From the cost effective smaller format TechStyler and TechSetter models to the larger format Liberator models, all OYO imagers output between 30-54 linear feet of film per hour, up to 10 times faster than an inkjet solution and with superior UV densities and screen rulings.

OYO's environmentally friendly ThermoImpression imagesetters are purpose built for the Screen & PAD printing industries and are chemistry free, requiring no darkroom, chemicals, inks or toners.
