OYO To Exhibit New Direct To Screen Concept

At Sign UK-Digital Expo-Screenprint 2006

LUTON, ENGLAND - February 10th 2006

OYO Instruments, Europe Ltd, will be previewing a new Thermal Imaging based Direct To Screen output solution at the upcoming Sign UK-Digital Expo-Screenprint 2006 exhibition at the NEC Birmingham May 9-11th 2006.

The new Direct To Screen Solution uses OYO's existing Thermal print head technology but instead of imaging a Thermal Film positive, the new system outputs a stencil directly onto a Screen thereby removing the interim step of having to produce the Film Positive. OYO are not yet releasing full details of exactly how the system works but Managing Director Mark Evans has issued the following statement…

'Direct to Screen is a Holy Grail for anyone involved in Screen Printing Prepress technology. Up to now the solutions that have made it to market have had limited success, either because they have fairly slow output speeds and are therefore unproductive, or they have image resolution limitations, or they are very expensive both in terms of capitalisation and running costs.

What we are showing at Sign UK-Digital Expo-Screenprint 2006 is a proof of concept that is very fast, offers high resolution using our proven 600dpi Printhead design and will also be very affordable.'

OYO will also be showing its full line up of ThermoImpression® Imagesetters. A redesigned TECHStyler 2 14" wide machine will be on display as well as the range topping Liberator XE models with the worlds only 1200dpi Thermal Print head and up to 54" wide imaging widths, offering up to 133lpi screen rulings.

From the cost effective smaller format TechStyler and TechSetter models to the larger format Liberator models, all OYO imagers output between 30-38 linear feet of film per hour, up to 10 times faster than an inkjet solution and with superior UV densities and screen rulings.

OYO's environmentally friendly ThermoImpression imagesetters are purpose built for the Screen & PAD printing industries and are chemistry free, requiring no darkroom, chemicals, inks or toners. They are used worldwide producing film positives and negatives for applications such as POP, Posters, Banners, Labels, Textile and Flexo printing. OYO has solutions to fit any Screenprint requirement.

OYO's Imagesetters include the latest level 3 Harlequin RIP Print Server software, with powerful PrePress features including control over calibration, screen rulings and queue management functions.

OYO Instruments will be exhibiting their products on Stand no. B60 at. ScreenPrint 2006 is at the NEC Halls 17 & 18 from May 9th-11th 2006.
