OYO Announce DIABLO Direct to Screen

System for FESPA 2007

OYO Instruments, Europe Ltd, will be unveiling it's new DIABLO Direct To Screen imaging solution at FESPA 2007 BERLIN in June.

OYO Instruments LP and it's European subsidiary OYO Instruments Europe have announced that their new Direct To Screen offering, DIABLO will get its first public showing at FESPA Berlin. Unlike OYO's earlier Direct To Screen offering the EcoPROdts which began shipping in the U.S last month, the DIABLO uses OYO's existing Thermal print head technology to image a stencil onto a standard coated screen using a thermal transfer ribbon system.

DIABLO is the fastest and most flexible direct to screen system on the market. The full width Thermal print head can image at 15 linear inches per minute, much faster than conventional inkjet based technology, applying an image mask to conventionally coated screens in less than two minutes per frame, at up to 1200 dpi resolution.

The washable mask is applied with a thermal transfer process that eliminates the use of film, ink, toner, and chemicals. Uniquely Diablo can also function like the EcoPROdts system by imaging onto OYO's pre-coated thermal mesh material, which eliminates the need to coat, dry, expose, and wash screens. This fully adjustable system accepts all frames commonly used in textile print shops, up to 25" x 36". The new system outputs a stencil directly onto a Screen thereby removing the interim step of having to produce the Film Positive.

The first DIABLO system uses OYO's patented 18" wide 1200dpi thermal print head for imaging up to 18" wide onto frames sizes up to 25" x 36". Future versions of the system are also planned using OYO's larger 36" and 54" 1200dpi print heads.

OYO will also be showing its full line up of ThermoImpression® Imagesetters including the redesigned TECHStyler 14" wide machine as well as the range topping Liberator XE models with the worlds only 1200dpi Thermal Print head and up to 54" wide imaging widths, offering up to 120lpi screen rulings.

From the cost effective smaller format TechStyler and TechSetter models to the larger format Liberator models, all OYO imagers output between 30-54 linear feet of film per hour, up to 10 times faster than an inkjet solution and with superior UV densities and screen rulings.

OYO's environmentally friendly ThermoImpression imagesetters are purpose built for the Screen & PAD printing industries and are chemistry free, requiring no darkroom, chemicals, inks or toners. They are used worldwide producing film positives and negatives for applications such as POP, Posters, Banners, Labels, Textile and Flexo printing. OYO has solutions to fit any Screenprint requirement.

OYO's Imagesetters include the latest level 3 Harlequin RIP Print Server software, with powerful PrePress features including control over calibration, screen rulings and queue management functions.
